Apparently this is a standard procedure all paramedics follow at the scene of an accident when they come across your cell phone. ICE - 'In Case of Emergency

'We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends. If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't' t know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this 'ICE' (In Case of Emergency) Campaign The concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell(mobile) phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name 'ICE' ( In Case Of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized nam e for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as 'ICE.' For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A great idea that will make a difference!Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today!P lease forward this. It won't take too many 'forwards' before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest. ICE will speak for you when you are not able to.

Monday, November 10th is my mother's birthday. She would have turned 63 years old this year. We sure do miss her.

I know that many of you are sick and tired of all this but if you read just one more thing between now and election, I urge you to read the following editorial.

I don't know who "Michael Masters" is or what he does, but he does write cogently and well. A Google search turns up a Michael Masters who is a lawyer in Philadelphia , but I don't believe that he is the author of this open letter. There is a "Michael C. Masters" who lives in McLean , VA – I presume, but do not know, for sure, that he is the author. However, he didn't show up in any Google searches that I conducted, so I guess he isn't "notorious" enough to be found. I look at that as a good thing, however. On the surface, that suggests he is just another citizen like the rest of us and has no particular ax to grind. However, he HAS done his homework before writing this editorial.

To Barack Hussein Obama,

The New York Times carried a story on Saturday, October 4, 2008, that proved you had a significantly closer relationship with Bill Ayers than what you previously admitted. While the issue of your relationship is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America about it.

The Chicago Sun reported on May 8, 2008, that FBI records showed that you had a significantly closer relationship with Tony Rezko than what you previously admitted. In the interview, you said that you only saw Mr. Rezko a couple of times a year. The FBI files showed that you saw him weekly. While the issue of your relationship is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America about it.

Your speech in Philadelphia on March 18, 2008, about "race" contradicted your statement to Anderson Cooper on March 14 when you said that you never heard Reverend Wright make his negative statements about white America . While your attendance at Trinity Church for 20 years is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America on March 14.

In your 1st debate with John McCain, you said that you never said that you would meet with the leaders of Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, and North Korea without "preparations" at lower levels ... Joe Biden repeated your words in his debate with Sarah Palin ... while the video tape from your debate last February clearly shows that you answered "I would" to the question of meeting with those leaders within 12 months without "any" preconditions. While your judgement about meeting with enemies of the USA without pre-conditions is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America in the debate with McCain.

On July 14, 2008, you said that you always knew that the surge would work while the video tapes of you from more than a year ago show that you stated that the surge would not work. While your judgement about military strategy as a potential commander-in-chief is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America on July 14.

You now claim that your reason for voting against funding for the troops was because the bill did not include a time line for withdrawal, while the video tapes of you from more than a year ago show that you voted against additional funding because you wanted our troops to be removed immediately ... not in 16 months after the 2008 election as you now claim. While your judgement about removing our troops unilaterally in 2007 is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America about your previous position.

You claim to have a record of working with Republicans while the record shows that the only bill that you sponsored with a Republican was with Chuck Lugar ... and it failed. The record shows that you vote 97% in concert with the Democrat party and that you have the most liberal voting record in the Senate. You joined Republicans only 13% of the time in your votes and those 13% were only after agreement from the Democrat party. While it is of concern that you fail to include conservatives in your actions and that you are such a liberal, the greater concern is that you distorted the truth.

In the primary debates of last February, 2008, you claimed to have talked with a "Captain" of a platoon in Afghanistan "the other day" when in fact you had a discussion in 2003 with a Lieutenant who had just been deployed to Afghanistan . You lied in that debate.

In your debates last spring, you claimed to have been a "professor of Constitutional law" when in fact you have never been a professor of Constitutional law. In this last debate, you were careful to say that you "taught a law class" and never mentioned being a "professor of Constitutional law." You lied last spring.

You and Joe Biden both claimed that John McCain voted against additional funding for our troops when the actual records show the opposite. You distorted the truth.

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted against funding for alternate energy sources 20 times when the record shows that John McCain specifically voted against funding for bio fuels, especially corn ... and he was right .... corn is too expensive at producing ethanol, and using corn to make ethanol increased the price of corn from $2 a bushel to $6 a bushel for food. You distorted the truth.

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted like both of you for a tax increase on those making as little as $42,000 per year while the voting record clearly shows that John McCain did not vote as you and Joe Biden. You lied to America .

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted with George W. Bush 90% of the time when you know that Democrats also vote 90% of the time with the President (including Joe Biden) because the vast majority of the votes are procedural. You are one of the few who has not voted 90% of the time with the president because you have been missing from the Senate since the day you got elected. While your absence from your job in the Senate is of concern, the greater concern is that you spin the facts.

You did not take an active role in the rescue plan. You claimed that the Senate did not need you while the real reason that you abstained was because of your close relationships with the executives of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Countrywide, and Acorn ... who all helped cause the financial problems of today ... and they all made major contributions to your campaign. While your relationship with these executives and your protection of them for your brief 3 years in the Senate (along with Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer, Maxine Waters, and Chris Dodd) is of concern, the greater concern is that you are being deceitful.

You forgot to mention that you personally represented Tony Rezko and Acorn. Tony Rezko, an Arab and close friend to you, was convicted of fraud in Chicago real estate transactions that bilked millions of tax dollars from the Illinois government for renovation projects that you sponsored as a state senator ... and Acorn has been convicted of voter fraud, real estate sub prime loan intimidation, and illegal campaign contributions. Tony Rezko has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to your political campaigns. You personally used your political positions to steer money to both Tony Rezko and Acorn and you used Acorn to register thousands of phony voters for Democrats and you. While your relationships with Rezko and Acorn are of concern, the greater concern is that you omitted important facts about your relationships with them to America .

During your campaign, you said: "typical white person." "They cling to their guns and religion." "They will say that I am black." You played the race card. You tried to label any criticism about you as racist. You divide America .

You claim that you will reduce taxes for 95% of America , but you forgot to tell America that those reductions are after you remove the Bush tax reductions. You have requested close to $1 billion in earmarks and several million for Acorn. Your social programs will cost America $1 trillion per year and you claim that a reduction in military spending ($100 billion for Iraq ) can pay for it. While your economic plan of adding 30% to the size of our federal government is of concern, the greater concern is that you are deceiving America .

The drain to America 's economy by foreign supplied oil is $700 billion per year (5% of GDP) while the war in Iraq is $100 billion (less than 1% of GDP). You voted against any increases to oil exploration for the last 3 years and any expansion of nuclear facilities. Yet today, you say that you have always been for more oil and more nuclear. You are lying to America .

Mr. Obama, you claimed that you "changed" your mind about public financing for your campaign because of the money spent by Republican PACs in 2004. The truth is that the Democrat PACs in 2004, 2006, and 2008 spent twice as much as the Republican PACs (especially George Soros and MoveOn.org). You are lying to America .

Mr. Obama, you have done nothing to stop the actions of the teachers union and college professors in the USA . They eliminated religion from our history. They teach pro gay agendas and discuss sex with students as young as first grade. They bring their personal politics into the classrooms. They disparage conservatives. They brainwash our children. They are in it for themselves ..... not America . Are you reluctant to condemn their actions because teachers/professors and the NEA contribute 25% of all money donated to Democrats and none to Republicans? You are deceiving America .

Oh, Mr. Obama, Teddy Roosevelt said about a hundred years ago that we Americans should first look at the character of our leaders before anything else.
Your character looks horrible. While you make good speeches, motivating speeches, your character does not match your rhetoric. You talk the talk, but do not walk the walk.

1. You lied to America . You lied many times. You distorted facts. You parsed your answers like a lawyer.

2. You distorted the record of John McCain in your words and in your advertisements.

3. You had associations with some very bad people for your personal political gains and then lied about those associations.

4. You divide America about race and about class.

Now let me compare your record of lies, distortions, race baiting, and associations to John McCain: War hero. Annapolis graduate with "Country first." Operational leadership experience like all 43 previously elected presidents of the USA as a Navy officer for 22 years. 26 years in the Senate. Straight talk. Maverick. 54% of the time participated on bills with Democrats. Never asked for an earmark. The only blemish on his record is his part in the Keating 5 debacle about 25 years ago.

Mr. Obama, at Harvard Law School, you learned that the end does not justify the means. You learned that perjury, false witness, dishonesty, distortion of truth are never tolerated. Yet, your dishonesty is overwhelming. Your dishonesty is tremendously greater than the dishonesty that caused the impeachment and disbarment of Bill Clinton. Your dishonesty is tremendously greater than the dishonesty of Scooter Libby. You should be ashamed.

Mr. Obama, it is time for us Americans to put aside our differences on political issues and vote against you because of your dishonest character. It is time for all of us Americans to put aside our political issues and vote for America first. It is time for America to vote for honesty.
Any people who vote for you after understanding that you are dishonest should be ashamed of themselves for making their personal political issues more important than character. Would these same people vote for the anti-Christ if the anti-Christ promised them riches? Would they make a golden calf while Moses was up the mountain? Would they hire someone for a job if that someone lied in an interview? Of course not. So why do some of these people justify their votes for you even though they know you are dishonest? Why do they excuse your dishonesty? Because some of these people are frightened about the future, the economy, and their financial security .... and you are preying on their fears with empty promises ... and because some (especially our young people) are consumed by your wonderful style and promises for "change" like the Germans who voted for Adolf Hitler in 1932. The greed/envy by Germans in 1932 kept them from recognizing Hitler for who he was. They loved his style. Greed and envy are keeping many Americans from recognizing you ... your style has camouflaged your dishonesty .... but many of us see you for who you really are ... and we will not stop exposing who you are every day, forever if it is necessary.

Mr. Obama, you are dishonest. Anyone who votes for you is enabling dishonesty.

Mr. Obama , America cannot trust that you will put America first in your decisions about the future.

Mr. Obama, you are not the "change" that America deserves. We cannot trust you.

Mr. Obama, You are not ready and not fit to be commander-in-chief.

Mr. Obama, John McCain does not have as much money as your campaign to refute all of your false statements. And for whatever reasons, the mainstream media will not give adequate coverage or research about your lies, distortions, word parsing, bad associations, race baiting, lack of operational leadership experience, and generally dishonest character. The media is diverting our attention from your relationships and ignoring the fact that you lied about those relationships. The fact that you lied is much more important than the relationships themselves .... just like with Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon ... Monica Lewinski and Watergate were not nearly as bad as the fact that those men lied about the events ... false witness ... perjury ... your relationships and bad judgements are bad on their own .... but your lies are even worse.

Therefore, by copy of this memo, all who read this memo are asked to send it to everyone else in America before it is too late. We need to do the job that the media will not do. We need to expose your dishonesty so that every person in America understands who you really are before election day.

Mr. Obama, in a democracy, we get what we deserve. And God help America if we deserve you.

I believe that many respectful and wise Americans share this same viewpoint.


This letter was sent to the Wall Street Journal on August 8, 2008 by Alisa Wilson, Ph.D. Of Beverly Hills, CA.On July 31, 2008, the Wall Street Journal had an article titled,
“Where’s The Outrage?'
Really. I can tell you where the outrage is. The outrage is here, in this middle-aged, well-educated, upper-middle class woman. The outrage is here, but I have no representation, no voice. The outrage is here, but no one is listening – for who am I?
I’m not a billionaire like George Soros that can fund an entire political movement.
I’m not a celebrity like Barbra Streisand that can garner the attention of the press to promote political candidates.
I’m not a film maker like Michael Moore or Al Gore that can deliver misleading movies to the public.
The outrage is here, but unlike those with money or power, I don’t know how to reach those who feel similarly in order to effect change.
Why am I outraged? I am outraged that my country, the United States of America, is in a state of moral and ethical decline. There is no right or wrong anymore, just what’s fair.
Is it fair that millions of Americans who overreached and borrowed more than they could afford are now being bailed out by the government and lending institutions to stave off foreclosure? Why shouldn’t these people be made to pay the consequences for their poor judgment? When my husband and I purchased our home, we were careful to purchase only what we could afford. Believe me, there are much larger, much nicer homes that I would have loved to have purchased. But, taking responsibility for my behavior and my life, I went with the house that we could afford, not the house that we couldn’t afford. The notion of personal responsibility has all but died in our country.
I am outraged, that the country that welcomed my mother as an immigrant from Hitler’s Nazi Germany and required that she and her family learn English now allows itself to be overrun with illegal immigrants and worse, caters to those illegal immigrants. I am outraged that my hard-earned taxes help support those here illegally;That the Los Angeles Public School District is in such disarray that I felt it Incumbent to send my child to private school; that every time I go to the ATM, I see “do you want to continue in English or Spanish?”; that every time I call the bank, the phone company , or similar business, I hear “press 1 for English or press 2 for Spanish.” WHY? This is America, our common language is English and attempts to promote a bi- or multi-lingual society are sure to fail and to marginalize those who cannot communicate in English.
I am outraged at our country’s weakness in the face of new threats on American traditions from Muslims. Just this week, Tyson’s Food negotiated with its union to permit Muslims to have Eid-al-Fitr as a holiday instead of Labor Day. What am I missing? Yes, there is a large Somali Muslim population working at the Tyson’s plant in Tennessee. Tennessee, last I checked, is still part of the United States. If Muslim's want to live and work here they should be required to live and work by our American Laws and not impose their will on our long history. In the same week, Random House announced that they had indefinitely delayed the publication of “The Jewel of Medina,” by Sherry Jones, a book about the life of Mohammed’s wife, A’isha due to fear of retribution and violence by Muslims. When did we become a nation ruled by fear of what other immigrant groups want? It makes me so sad to see large corporations cave rather than stand proudly on the principles that built this country.I am outraged because appeasement has never worked as a political policy, yet Appeasing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is exactly what we are trying to do. An excellent article, also published recently in the Wall Street Journal, went through over 20 years of history and why talking with Iran has been and will continue to be ineffective. Yet talk, with a madman no less, we continue to do. Have we so lost our moral compass and its ability to detect evil that we will not go in and destroy Iran’s nuclear program? Would we rather wait for another Holocaust for the Jews – one which they would be unlikely to survive? When does it end?As if the battle for good and evil isn’t enough, now come the Environmentalists who are so afraid of global warming that they want to put a bag tax on grocery bags in California; to eliminate Mylar balloons; to establish something as insidious as the recycle police in San Francisco. I do my share for the environment – I recycle, I use water wisely, I installed an energy efficient air conditioning unit.
But when and where does the lunacy stop? Ahmadinejad wants to wipe Israel off the map, the California economy is being overrun by illegal immigrants, and the United States of America no longer knows right from wrong; good from evil. So what does California do? Tax grocery bags.So, America, although I can tell you where the outrage is, this one middle-aged, well-educated, upper middle class woman is powerless to do anything about it. I don’t even feel like my vote counts because I am so outnumbered by those who disagree with me.

I want to thank all of you who called and prayed for me this past weekend while I was in the hospital.
For those who have not heard, I went to the doctor on Friday afternoon to get some medicine for a sinus infection I had been fighting for a week. I mentioned to my Dr. that sometimes when I am working, that I get sharp pains in my chest. I explained that the pains do not last but for about 5-10 minutes and do not occur every day, just every once in awhile, when I exert myself. Well, as a routine precaution, my doctor ordered me to have an EKG there in the office. The results of the EKG showed inverted T waves. ( I don't really know what that means, that is just what I was told the EKG read), so my doctor sent me over to the Emergency Room for some blood tests and then out to Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, KS for more tests. I was admitted to the hospital on Friday evening. Several additional EKG's were performed, as well as blood tests and an echocardiogram. As an additional precaution, I was given an Angiogram so they could take a more detailed look at my heart, to see if there was blockage, or just what was going on.
I am back home now recuperating. As of now, it has been determined that my blood pressure med needed adjusted and new meds were introduced to regulate my cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
I am okay! Praise God for keeping his hand upon me, and thank you to all that prayed for me. I was pretty nervous about the whole thing, it was very unexpected and not how I wanted to spend the weekend, but all is well, so all Glory goes to God!

I would like to wish my pastor at Harvest Time Holiness Church, Glen Polnack, a Happy 52nd Birthday. Bro Glen is a wonderful leader of the church and a wonderful mentor to me. His love and zeal for the Lord Jesus Christ is evident in his sermons and his daily life. He is always very considerate and respectful to all of us in the church, even if at times some of us need to be reprimanded or rebuked. He has a gentle nature and handles things with great tact and integrity. The father of 3 girls, Kayelyn, Kristen, and Joanna, Bro Glen enjoys being around young people as well as the elders of our church. In addition to his pastorial duties, Bro Glen holds a full time job in carpentry and has been known to do repair work for others whenever the need arises.

A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Glen Polnack. We love and admire you very much Bro Glen.

Revival Starts this Week!!!

I will be very busy this week, attending the revival in Bartlesville, so I don't know how much I will be able to post to this blog. Please be in prayer for my co-worker, Kerstin, who has agreed to go to the revival with me on Tuesday night. She is not saved but has a child-like interest in salvation and church.

I hope some of you can make it to the revival. It starts this Sunday 9/21/08 at 7pm.

Our Education System

Letter by a Florida teacher . . . A teacher speaks This is a subject close to my heart. Do you know that we have adult students at the school where I teach who are not US citizens and who get the PELL Grant, which is a federal grant (no pay back required) plus other federal grants to go to school? One student from the Dominican Republic told me that she didn't want me to find a job for her after she finished my program, because she was getting housing from our housing department and she was getting a PELL Grant which paid for her total tuition and books, plus money leftover. She was looking into WAIT which gives students a CREDIT CARD for gas to come to school, and into CARIBE which is a special program (check it out - I did) for immigrants and it pays for child care and all sorts of needs while they go to school or training. The one student I just mentioned told me she was not going to be a US Citizen because she plans to return to the Dominican Republic someday and that she 'loves HER country.' I asked her if she felt guilty taking what the US is giving her and then not even bothering to become a citizen and she told me that it doesn't bother her, because that is what the money is there for! I asked the CARIBE administration about their program and if you ARE a US citizen, you don't qualify for their program. And all the while, I am working a full day, my son-in-law works more than 60 hours a week, and everyone in my family works and pays for our education. Something is wrong here. I am sorry but after hearing that they want to sing the National Anthem in Spanish - enough is enough. That's a real slap in the face. Nowhere did they sing it in Italian, Polish, Irish (Celtic), German or any other language because of immigration. It was written by Francis Scott Key and should be sung word for word the way it was written. The news broadcasts even gave the translation -- not even close. I don't care whether this offends someone or not but this is MY COUNTRY. IF IT IS YOUR COUNTRY SPEAK UP -- please pass this along. I am not against immigration -- I just expect immigrants to come through like everyone else. Get a sponsor; have a place to lay your head; have a job; pay your taxes, live by the rules AND LEARN THE LANGUAGE as all other immigrants have in the past -- and GOD BLESS AMERICA! PART OF THE PROBLEM -Think about this: If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone - YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM! It is Time for America to speak up. God Still Moves!

Well folks, it has been a wonderful day in the house of the Lord. We had a very good service Sunday night at Harvest Time. The Spirit began moving during testimony service when Sis. Polnack started singing "Ananias, Tell Me About Jesus". Sis Kaylen was swept up in the Spirit and began dancing, then the rest of us began praising the Lord and got swept up in His Glory. Bro. Wes reminded us all again in Sunday School of the formula for revival, seeking God and turning away from all wickedness. God is still moving on His people when we reach out to Him with love and admiration. We need a move of God and that is the only way we will receive it, is by obeying the formula that God gave us in II Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
If we are going to see loved ones saved, the sick healed, and converts filled with the Holy Ghost, we must do as the Lord commanded us.
Pray for a revival!

College Drop Out

It is with some disappointment that I have had to pull out of the online classes for my nursing pre-reqs. I discovered after only two weeks, that my current schedule will not allot me the time needed to study and turn in assignments when they are due. I prayed for God's will to be done in this matter, and shortly afterwards, I experienced a series of perverbial "roadblocks" on the road to advanced education. Events that I had no control over, that kept me from spending the time I needed to complete my work in a timely manner. I just have to accept that going back to school, at least at this time, is not in the plans for my life. I don't know which direction God wants me to go, but I pray that I will stay in tune with Him, and that he will lead me down the paths that he has chosen for me.
Please remember me in prayer, as this is a very confusing time for me.

Anniversary Announcement

Celebrating 31 years of marriage, is one of the influential couples in my Christian walk, Glen Polnack, 51 and his wife Phyllis Polnack 48. Bro. Polnack took the pastorial position at Harvest Time Holiness Church, located at 515 S Summit in Girard, KS, in June 2006.

Bro & Sis Polnack have two fraternal twin daughters, Kristen and Kaylen, 14 and a younger daughter JoAnna, 12. All three girls are active in the church. They each take turns on occasion to lead our praise service (or testimony service), they play hand percussion instruments, and sing special songs. They enjoy raising poultry, helping their mother with household chores, visiting the elderly, attending campmeetings and revivals, and fellowship dinners.

The Polnacks were active Holiness Evangelist from 1996-2006 before coming to HTHC. Prior to their evangelical ministry, the Polnacks pastored Trinity Holiness Church in Wauricka, Oklahoma, between 1988-1996. In addition to his pastorial duties, Bro Glen enjoys playing the rhythm guitar, and is the audio technician for the church. Sis Phyllis is the children's Sunday School teacher, and the church pianist. She also oversees the education of her girls through home schooling and provides daycare for one of the families at our church. On Tuesdays, she is the pianist for the ladies group that visits Heritage Nursing Home in Girard, KS.

The Polnacks have a strong love for our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. They possess a zeal for the lost souls in the community. Their moral values, integrity, ethics, and belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the holiness standards of living, are evident to those that have spent any amount of time around them. They have instilled these same attributes into their daughters and have given them a priceless heritage of holiness. The love and friendliness they show to others, there personal testimonies, and heartfelt worship of the Lord, is proof of their genuine love for God and their concern for the lost.

Happy Anniversary to Glen and Phyllis Polnack! May God richly bless you and yours from now until the return of Jesus Christ!

Special Thanks

I want to first thank the Lord for His hand of protection on me today, as I drove to Burlingame, KS to the college campus. I was very nervous and concerned about being on a college campus and contacted some of my brethren in Christ, for a prayer request. I won't go into all of the details on my blog, because some would not understand, but I do thank each of you that prayed for me. The day went very well, and all of you were right, the Lord was with me. Later, I felt kind of embarassed for making such a big deal out of something so small, but I have been going through some difficult times lately and really needed the extra encouragement from Christians. I would ask that you would continue to pray for me as I attempt to further my education. Please see previous post on Nursing.

Pre-test? Now I Need Rest..

Wow!



I just finished taking my pre-tests for 3 of my 4 online classes: Sociology, Biology, English, and Nutrition. Basically these quizzes are set up to find out how much you know already. The idea is that they are going to give the same test at the end of the semester to see how much the student has learned. The instructors do not want you to study or read any of the material until after you take the pre-tests for their courses.

Talk about a mind scramble! Not to boast, but I thought I knew alot, but I was amazed at how much I have forgotten since the 20 years I have been out of school. This is going to to take some real effort and determination, to say the least. I can see right now, I have got to stay motivated and on top of things or I could easily fall very behind.

So I need you all to pray for me that I will keep a clear head and strong mind because I sure am going to need it. I have set up a 3 year educational goal for myself and though alot can happen between now and then, I pray that I will remained focused. I think that once I get used to the format and forums used for Online education, I will have mastered a big part of it. I will keep you all posted.

System Restored!

My computer is back up and running! It was down for several hours due to that XP Virus. The technician was able to remotely go in and remove it. It was pretty neat to watch him do it. You give them access to your computer and they do the rest. They tell you what they are doing and ask permission to do it, before they do it. It took about 6 minutes, if that long, for him to locate and destroy the virus. So I am very greatful for that.

Be careful online. There are many malicious viral experts out there trying to sabatoge our communication system. If you have never heard of a specific anti-virus application before, my advice to you is to do a Google search and see if anyone has reviewed it.

WARNING!!! XP 2008 Antivirus IS a Virus!

XP Antivirus 2008 IS a Virus!

While surfing the internet, I came across an application that I needed to run a program. It told me to download and install the application before I could view the program. It seemed innocent enough, so I did just that. What happened next was very upsetting. Once it was given access to my computer, the application took over. It works like one of those free scans. It scans your computer then tells you it has found 600 viruses. This made no sense to me because I have an Upgraded version of the Norton Anti-virus. Well, when I tried to un-install this program, the Un-install feature does not work. A big banner comes across your computer screen telling you that your computer has been infected with a virus and requires immediate attention. You can not remove it, delete it, or minimize it.

I called the technician at Norton, and did not even tell him the name of the virus, simply began to tell him what happened. Before I could get most it out, he said "by chance is the application called XP 2008 Antivirus"? I told him it sure was. His response to me is that I have one of the worst viruses known, on my system. He said what is known about it is this:

1. The virus was created by and originated from Russia

2. The virus acts like an antivirus protection and scans your computer, then infects every major file on your hard drive.

3. The virus begins to collect all personal information from your system, such as bank account information, stored credit card information, etc.

4. The WARNING is set up to get you to purchase the cleaner, but when you do, your credit card information is being stolen.

Do not attempt to un-install the virus or purchase the cleaner! The longer you have the virus the more damage it does. If this happens to you, contact your Anti-Virus host (Norton, McAfee, etc.) immediately. They will charge you a $100.00 fee, but a technician can remotely access your system and take the virus out. The alternative is to take your complete system to a store where they will charge you $70.00/hr to fix it.

Nursing: My Obvious Choice

After much waiting, debating, procrastinating, and hesitating, I have taken the steps to acquire my Associate's Degree in Nursing. I began my pre-requisites for Registered Nurse through the Allen Community College Online Classes. My first semester began today.It is somewhat hard to believe that I have finally gone back to school to advance in the healthcare industry, but it is the only logical choice. I enjoy caring for others and I believe that the Lord approves of a career that requires a person to have and to share Christian attributes with others such as patience, love, selflessness, and caring for those that can not care for themselves. If you think about it, why would He bless us with these things if He did not expect us to express them to others. One of my favorite scriptures to meditate on when I am feeling conflicted on the job is when the Lord Jesus admonishes us with this passage from Matthew 25:35-40

"35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me (emphasis mine).

Yes, there are days when I am challenged and my character and disposition is put to the test, and it is at these times when I wonder why I chose to be a caregiver. However, through soul searching and prayer, I have come to the conclusion that I could never do anything else that would bring the confidence and emotional compensation that I receive from caring for the less fortunate. Whether they be old and feeble, or young and sick, I love making a difference. I enjoy Geriatrics and it is my belief that God has placed me in a job that I can reach out to someone either on staff or a resident (or elder), with the love of Jesus and testify of His wonderful mercy and amazing grace!Many of the residents that I see and care for each day, suffer from Alzheimer's Disease and have entered the final stages of dementia and the final days of their lives. To some, this may seem depressing or hopeless to be around. But there are days when you look into a patient's eyes and sense that they are scared or worried about what lies ahead for them. You see, they were once someone's daughter or son, they were once someone's sweetheart, someone's parent, brother or sister. They are not some old lady or old man with no past, present, or future, to be discarded or institutionalized like they no longer matter or have nothing to offer or contribute to life. I have been given an opportunity to try and reach these precious forgotten souls that may be lost and on their way to a devil's hell. I believe that I serve a great and merciful God that even in a persons darkest hours and last days of living on this earth, that not even an obstacle like dementia, can prevent Him from calling out to them. My God is able to offer salvation and eternal life to anyone. His Word confirms that!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16) .

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved (Romans 10:13).

I believe that we should take every opportunity that God gives us to tell of our salvation, to tell of a God in heaven, that saves, delivers, and heals. In many places of business, my brothers and sisters in Christ do not get the opportunity to witness. With regulations and laws being passed every day, one risks being severely reprimanded or terminated for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so greatful that I am in an industry that it is permitted and encouraged to share with the people we care for. Me and my co-workers have discussions about the Lord and the Bible, and there are one or two that I work with, that I believe the Lord could and wants to really use, if they would just allow Him too and would surrender their lives completely to His will. Nursing is the best choice for me. I get to advance in a job that some have classified as a ministry. I get to spend time with a captive audience, and I have such contentment in my heart at the end of my day, that God was able to use me to touch someone's life. I may never know the outcome of my witnessing until I reach heaven, but as the song goes "if one soul is saved, it's worth it all"Please remember me in your prayers that God will always keep a desire in my heart to follow the teachings of Christ:

"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets."(Matthew 7:12)

Should the Lord allow the world to continue on for many more years, each one of us will be old and dependant some day. Let us remember the importance of reaching out to them, the next time we see or hear of someone that needs God's mercy to work in their lives.

Equality or Special Rights? The Homosexual Agenda

McDonald’s has done it again. First, the company paid $20,000 to become a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and to have a seat on the board of directors. Next, McDonald’s refused a request to remain neutral in the culture war by choosing to promote the gay agenda. Then McDonald’s accused those opposing the gay agenda, including same-sex marriage, of being motivated by hate.

Now we learn that McDonald’s sponsors training for homosexuals on how to promote their agenda among corporations from the inside. Out & Equal™ Workplace Advocates is a national organization devoted to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in the workplace. One of its primary purposes is to train employees how to aggressively promote homosexuality within the company they work for, all the way to the corporate boardroom. Part of last year’s Out & Equal Summit in Washington, DC, (sponsored by McDonald’s) was an organized march into congressional offices demanding same-sex marriage laws be passed.
At the bottom of McDonald’s half-page ad in the Out & Equal Summit booklet is this statement: “From neighborhood to neighborhood, coast to coast and around the world, McDonald’s is proud to celebrate diversity” (homosexuality).

And the school administrators said
No faculty member in this school better touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued.
And we accepted their reasoning...

And the entertainment industry said,
Let's make TV shows and movies that promote
Profanity, violence and illicit sex...
And let's record music that encourages
Rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes..
And we said,
it's just entertainment
And it has no adverse effect
And nobody takes it seriously anyway,
So go right ahead.

Now we're asking ourselves
Why our children have no conscience,
Why they don't know right from wrong,
And why it doesn't bother them to
Kill strangers, classmates or even themselves.

Undoubtedly,
If we thought about it long and hard enough,
We could figure it out.

Birthday Announcement

Today, on this date in history in 1961, my mother gave birth to an honery little boy whom we'll call. my oldest brother , and the world has never been quite the same since.
Wes, and his lovely wife Zio, own a quaint little beach house on the bayfront in Seadrift, Texas. Wes enjoys surfing, sailing, and fishing and spending time with his little granddaughter, Natalie. He and some of his fellow sailors recently established the Seadrift Sail & Yacht Club, According to my informative sources, he will be spending his 47th birthday with the SS&YC. If I know Wes, he will be spending alot of time engaging in coastal activities, eating lots of seafood, drinking lots of Coca-Cola, and will be surrounded by his family and friends and will be sharing his past adventures and experiences of life in the Gulf, until late hours of the night.

The Holiness Messenger Website Removes Guestbook

Those of you that attend Harvest Time Holiness Church, are aware of the short comment that I posted on The Holiness Messenger website, regarding the 2007 Valentines Day Banquet that took place in Illinois. To summarize, I posted a comment that the holiness people had no business celebrating a pagan holiday and that the photos of the teenagers on the website dressed in worldly attire, was presenting a message to the world that we are just like them. As a result of this comment, which I posted on the Guestbook section of the website, I received two emails. One was from the webmaster the Holiness Messenger website, defending the Valentines Day party, and the other was from a holiness pastor turned charismatic. The email from the charismatic pastor was typical of someone that no longer agrees with the holiness doctrine or in truth, a backslider. He said many things, but it was his insuation that any Holiness church that holds to the true standards of holiness was a cult. He advised me "Don't drink the Kool-aid" which is a reference to the tragic mass suicide that occured in the 1970's with Jim Jones and his followers, where the people, intentionally drank poisoned Kool-aid.


Since my post on the Holiness Messenger, many other people begin leaving comments that were negative towards the holiness movement, that spake of hipocracy and other things about our church that bothered them. I never meant for my comments to be against the holiness movement, but rather as a warning to others that the church is becoming too accepting of sin and as someone that has not been a Christian very long, I was very aware of worldly ways, styles, dressing, hairdos, etc. Whether or not my comments were the sparks of controversy on the website, I do not know, but as of today"s date, the Guestbook section of the website has been removed. The photos of the Valentines Day party are still up for all the world to see, but apparently the comments that poured in, were too objectionable for the site to allow them to stay posted.

I believe that The Holiness Messenger newsletter, which is published every month, and the website are not overseen by the same people. I have to wonder if the publisher and editor of the newsletter, Bro Ralph Cox is even aware of all the things on the website. I believe that those at the website have taken advantage of the elderly holiness people's lack of technology education, and the fact that many of the elders do not access the internet, so therefore are not aware of what is all on the website.


It is my prayer that those running the Holiness Messenger website will remove the photos of the Valentines Day party. These photos of these kids partying, sends a message to all of our youth that it is okay to look and play like the world. Is it any wonder why the youth is leaning more towards Hollywood and her celeberties instead of living a sanctified life through our Lord Jesus Christ? When A publication that is supposed to represent our movement can publish pictures of teenagers dressed up for prom and congregating as does the secular youth, this is surely confusing to our youth, when we try to teach them that the Lord commands us to be separated and we are to dress in modest apparel. The email I received from the webmaster at The Holiness Messenger stated that he attended the party and their was nothing ungodly about it. Not only does he not see the problem of celebrating a pagan holiday, but he took part in it and made sure the photos were posted on the world wide web for all other churches to see. This man has done a great disservice not only to the youth, but to the Holiness churches across the country.

Birth Announcement

Ta-shauntenaya Lanea Williams is the newest addition to the Wilson family. She was born to Shannon Chanel Cook on July 6, 2008

at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, KS. She weighed 7.5 lbs and 19" long. Her grandparents are Kenny & Diane Sexton of Parsons, KS. She has 5 aunts on her maternal side, Jennifer Faller, Melissa Cook, Stephanie Cook, Jessica Keaton and Stephanie White. Both mother and baby are doing well and are in good health.
